Hiatus

Hi everyone. I will be taking a hiatus from blogging for a while. We are due to be induced tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM. I anticipate that we will have Peanut sometime tomorrow afternoon.  I will definitely get on here long enough to post some photos but that will probably be all for a while. I want to make sure that Little Fire Chief and Mr. Moo have lots of time to bond with Peanut and that we have plenty of adjustment period to go around. Plus, Hubby will be home for seven (yes I said 7) weeks and I want to spend as much time with him as possible.  I might participate in an I Heart Faces contest here and there, and may post some photos from time to time, but for now, this is goodbye See Ya Soon!

Over my hiatus I will be working with someone to update my blog and there will be a photography blog added. I am working on building my portfolio and then will set up a legitimate business within the next few months.  I can not wait to see what our futures have in store for us.

See you soon!

I love it here

sunset

Evenings like this remind me how much I love my hometown.  I mean, where else can you see sunsets such as these over beautiful coastlines?   It really doesn’t get much better!

Happy Wednesday.

Baby Shower Time

Today, I will be celebrating with friends and family the upcoming arrival of Peanut.  It’s going to be a ton of fun and absolutely beautiful. I will post lots of photos later, but here’s a sneak peak at the theme and colors*.

Well I better go get ready for the big day.  Children must be fed breakfast at least before I leave them with hubby.

You Capture: Fresh

Photobucket

Went walking around town yesterday and found the most beautiful fence.  It’s not freshly painted, but it’s fresh in my head. I love this fence. I’m so glad I found it to photograph.

heartlandfence2

I also had an opportunity to go photograph God’s seas a few days ago.  Oh how fresh and beautiful they are! Just look at those clouds! Clouds are my most favorite things to photograph. they are never the same twice!

Thank You Lord for Milk!

Heart Burn. Who wants it? No one. Who needs it?  No one. Who has it?  Me.  Pregnancy is never fun for me. Morning sickness, exhaustion, and yuck, heart burn.

DSC_0013

The only remedy for heart burn this time around is Milk.  A nice creamy glass of milk.  When they say it does a body good, I believe them!  I know, who takes a photo of you their glass of milk?  I do!

DSC_0011

I do because it’s the only thing that gets me through the day without heart burn.

Dear Lord. Thank you for Milk!

Thank You God

Thank you God for beauty! You are so gracious and merciful, I do not deserve the beauty which you have given me to look upon.

DSC_0336 I do not deserve to meditate on your oceans.

DSC_0327I do not deserve to view your beautiful sunsets.

DSC_0337I do not deserve to ponder the heavens or gaze upon the clouds. Yet, You allow me these privileges. May I be more mindful of the small things that I take for granted. Thank You Lord for the oceans, sunsets and clouds.  I need them, but do not deserve them.  You are so gracious to me.  Thank you Lord.

GMYBS: Weekend Recap #2

Give me your best shot at Better in Bulk

As some of you already know, I got to spend Easter Weekend partying, playing, and photographing my sister-in-law and her wedding party.  It was so much fun.  I captured some awesome memories and feel much more confidant as a photographer now.  Here are my favorite shots of the bride.

DSC_0128The umbrellas that you see were custom made by my mother-in-law. She bought the umbrellas and somehow sewed or glued the polka dots on. They were adorable and made a perfect prop for the hired wedding photographer.   I loved them too, and couldn’t get enough of photographing her and her bridesmaids with them.

DSC_0123 Seriously adorable right?

DSC_0133 She radiated beauty all day long with her beautiful dress, wonderful hair, and amazing makeup.  She’s a beautiful girl to start with, add the wedding garb, and WOWzers!

DSC_0147 Everything about the day was perfect. I haven’t seen a more vibrant bride or wedding party.

DSC_0136 I’ve already shared this one with you once this week, but oh how I love it.

Head over to Lolli’s blog to join in the fun!

Are you ready to Partay?

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

I wasn’t sure that I wanted to link up to the blog party this time, but since I just went to a very cool party over the weekend I thought I might take the opportunity to share that party with all of you. Welcome fellow party people!

I hope you enjoy the photos that you are about to see as much as I enjoyed shooting them. My sister-in-law got married on April 3rd at Grand Island Mansion in Sacramento. The event was beautiful and the party was amazing.

DSC_0039The couple kicked the weekend off with a trip to Joes Crab Shack in Old Town Sacramento. The drinks looked tasty.

DSC_0038The entertainment was awesome.

DSC_0046 The company was perfect.

Besides getting to meet all of you fellow partiers, I also have a chance to win a few prizes.

My top three choices would be:

I would like anything baby related if I don't win one of my top three because I am expecting a new little on in June.

Guess?

I already told you what I was doing over the weekend, but I didn’t believe I would have as much fun as I did. This is just one photo that I took on Saturday, there are so so so many more. I am going to be posting a few here and there.  I have so much editing to do, so many wonderful memories for the bride and groom.  What’s more, I’m a much more confident amateur photographer than I was before this weekend.  Hurray for love and weddings.

Stay tuned for lovely wedding photos.

See you soon

After giving notice that I would be more consistent about blogging, I am going on a short hiatus. My family will be celebrating my birthday, my sister-in-law’s wedding (hubby is officiating),and Easter this weekend. I will be no where near a computer.  However, I will be behind a pretty awesome camera, probably looking somewhat like this:

Maternity- Chelsi McFadden 049Hoping to make many wonderful memories while remembering the sacrifice that was made to purchase my salvation.

The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. “He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying. "Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead; and behold, He is going ahead of you into Galilee, there you will see Him; behold, I have told you."And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples. Baby Belly

I alluded to the fact that I had some maternity photos taken by a friend of mine in my I heart faces entry.  27 weeks pregnant and still having fun.

I Heart Faces: Dramatic Black & White

A friend of mine received a Canon Rebel for Christmas. So I asked her to take my maternity photos to save some money. Yesterday we headed out to Point Cabrillo Light Station and had a homemade maternity session. I had a blast and I think she did too. {I will post some maternity shots later. I have some editing to do first) I happened to be on the photographer’s end of the camera for just a moment and captured the perfect photo of her.

Please head over to I Heart Faces and see all the other beautifully dramatic black and white entries this week.

I’m Back!

DSC_0547

It has been months since I have shared with you all on a regular basis. There were several reasons behind my absence, but the #1 reason was pregnancy. I have been so nauseous and tired with this baby that I haven’t been able to function.  I have spent most of my days the past 6 months on the couch, and when I wasn’t doing that of course I was taking care of children. Some days it was all I could do to make three meals for the boys.  Hubby has been wonderfully understanding through this whole pregnancy. I am sure he will be happy when I am back to my spunky energetic self, and of course so will I!

So I am sorry dear readers. I am going to try to post at least once per day from here on out. I am feeling much better.  I have a couple more months left before baby’s arrival. Of course upon his arrival there will be a whole new adventure for our family.

What you’ve missed:

My first two trimesters. blah.

We have put an offer on our first home.  It is a short-sale so we are just waiting for the bank to approve our offer.

Hubby is working on his Paramedic.  He will finish up the coursework at the end of May.

Little Fire Chief will be starting Kindergarten in August.

Mr. Moo has started talking up a storm.  I think my favorite word that he tries to say is Garbage. It comes out Garby.  He’s such a sweet little man.

What I’ve missed:

Sharing with you all! Here’s to a bright future of consistent blogging!

Come Join the Parade!

1. What's your favorite time of the day, and why?

Sunset!

DSC_1027

I would say sunrise, but my husband works nights and we rarely get to enjoy a sunrise together.

DSC_0464

So for course Sunset would be my favorite time of day.

DSC_0461

If I could use one thing to describe an earthly sunset, I would say they are a God’s paintings! What an awesome God we serve!

2. If health wasn't an issue, what food could you live off of?

Fettuccine Alfredo from Olive Garden

3945804927_2e715cb191If it wasn’t for the carbs and the loads of butter that are in this pasta, I would eat it everyday of the week. I mean, I am Italian.

3. If you could have one wish granted (besides wishing for more wishes), what would it be?

Only one wish?  That’s a tough one because I am truly content with everything in my life. I worship and serve a magnificent God, I have a  good marriage, wonderful children (except when there not), and have been blessed with many privileges in life that most people will never experience.

DSC_0464 copy

So if I can only have one wish, my wish would be that my children grow up to be strong healthy and advantaged individuals who love and honor the Lord our God with their lives and all of their earthly possessions.

DSC_0206 copy I mean, isn’t that every parents wish?

4. What's one thing that you get teased about a lot?

That’s a tough one, I don’t get teased a lot. hmmm. . .I’ll have to think about this one.

5. If you could choose one movie, book, or TV show to spend your life in, which would you pick? What type of character would you be?

I think I would have to choose Sweet Home Alabama.

SweetHomeAlabama

There’s something about the love story that gets me every time! Not that I would every leave my husband to move to New York City and become a fashion designer or anything, but the love that Jake has for her is just beautiful.

6. If you could have one talent that you don't already have, what would it be?

If I could just be more domesticated it would be great. I can’t sew, I don’t enjoy baking, and forget about homeschooling my kids.

7.If money were no object, where would you go on vacation?

DISNEYLAND

DSC_0161I adore all things Disney. Even though I know there is Disneyworld, I think I will always like Disneyland and California Adventure better.

DSC_0178I just can’t resist the magic.

8. If you were an awesome singer, which genre would you sing?

Country

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, what would it be?

sample-aeropostale
10. If you could live in any point in time, when would it be?

Now!

11. If every outfit in your wardrobe had to be one color, what would it be?

Black!

black-clothes I know boring right?  I just like it. Plain Jane. That’s me.

12. If you were one of the seven dwarves, which one would you be?

Hubby says Grumpy!

grumpy
(Doc, Grumpy, Sneezy, Sleepy, Bashful, Happy, or Dopey)
13. What's the last album you listened to?

Wee Sing: Bible Songs

Wee-Sing-Bible-Songs
14. What's something we'd be surprised to know about you?

I am deathly afraid of feet!

now please head over to 32nd Street and join in the fun!
